WORLD PUPPETRY DAY

WORLD PUPPETRY DAY was initiated by the puppet theatre artist Javad Zolfaghari from Iran. The day was to celebrate the puppeteers who entertain us. The presentation of puppet programmes involves the creative efforts of many people working together. With the Modern Cinemas and Television grasping most of the audience Puppetry in India is on the brink of extinction.

In  India, the state of Rajasthan is well – known for its puppetry. They show colourful puppets dressed in the traditional clothes of Rajasthan, handing with strings. But, as mentioned earlier, they are on the brink of extinction. What’s your country’s history in puppetry?

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF ELIMINATING RACIAL DISCRIMINATION

This day was first celebrated in Africa to eliminate all forms of Racial Discrimination. The day also conveys a message to equally treat all humankind without discrimination.
