BLOGGING INSIGHTS BY DR. TANYA

The topic for this week is OPTIMUM POSTING TIMES AND DAYS. This is a kind of question series by Dr. Tanya at Salted Caramel. I am doing this for the first time. So, let’s begin:

1. How frequently do you post on your blog?

Earlier I used to post 2 posts a week because of my exams. But now, as they have ended and I get a lot of idle time, I post almost everyday. Another reason behind the increased frequency of posts is the change the basic theme of the blog. I have decided to change my blog from A POETRY BLOG to A JUST EVERYTHING kind of blog. So now, I have started posting on various topics. I have decided that from now onwards, I’ll be posting at least 5 posts a week.

2. Do you believe there are optimum posting times and days?

Not specifically. I usually post in the beginning hours of the day or during afternoon times. This is because I think that if I post in the afternoon hours, it will bring more views and my post will appear on the WordPress Reader at some top numbers. Well, I have tried many time slots of the day. The best ones which worked out for getting maximum views were afternoon ones. Thinking about the days, I think Fridays and Saturdays are the best days to post because many people can catch up your posts during weekends.

3. Do you like to schedule your posts in advance ? How many posts and how far ahead do you usually schedule?

Yes, I often schedule my posts in advance and I love this feature by WordPress. It helps me to stay in touch and update my blog even when I am going through busy months like my exams. At one point of time in November 2019, I scheduled my posts till February 2020 just because I had my exams for 5 months simultaneously and I had many poems written in advance. So, I typed and scheduled them all for 1 poem each week. Nowadays, I open my laptop two times a week and write and schedule posts for the next week. Overall, I just love this feature.
